- Bennie J. Smith aka 'Benny J' is originally from KY by way of Danville-Lexington-Louisville and relocated to Charlotte, NC 3 years ago to broaden his horizons in the entertainment arena. He's a musician, promoter and event planner who enjoys showcasing and promoting other local, regional, national and international artists in Charlotte and various locations throughout the country and beyond.
Benny J has had the opportunity to be on the billing with some of the music industry's gifted national artists such as: MIDNIGHT STAR with REGGIE & VINCENT CALLOWAY; S.O.S. BAND; CHANGING FACES; SLAVE; ROGER & LESTER TROUTMAN with ZAPP; READY FOR THE WORLD; THE CHOCOLATE MILK BAND; INSTANT FUNK; BOBBI HUMPHREY; ALEXANDER O'NEAL; THE DAZZ BAND; NAJEE and BRIAN O'NEAL.
He currently performs with various musicians under the 'Benny J & Friends' concept.
He is Founder and CEO of BJS Enterprises, LLC that promotes concerts, dances, fashion shows, and pageants and also does volunteer work in the communities addressing "STOP THE VIOLENCE...INCREASE THE PEACE"..."HOMELESSNESS"...and "YOUTH & ELDERLY" activities.
